Letting God Finish What You Can't | Your Nightly Prayer

Some days, life feels like an avalanche—tasks piling up, emotions swirling, energy fading fast. The dishes aren’t done. The to-do list keeps growing. And no matter how hard you try, you can’t seem to get ahead. In tonight's prayer and devotional, Chelsea Ohlemiller reminds us that even when our energy runs out, God’s does not. When our strength, patience, and perspective have reached their limits, His are still limitless. He doesn’t sleep, doesn’t quit, and never stops working for our good. We often equate rest with completion—believing we can’t stop until everything is finished. But true rest isn’t found in finishing the work; it’s found in trusting that He’s still working even when we stop. The weight you carry isn’t yours to hold alone. God holds you—and every unfinished thing that worries you. When you feel like you’re slipping under the pressure, remember this truth: your steadiness doesn’t depend on your strength. The One who never slumbers is watching, guiding, and securing every step you take. You can rest tonight not because everything is done, but because He never stops doing what only He can do. Tonight’s Scripture: Psalm 121:3 (NIV) “He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber.” 🔗 Read more on BibleStudyTools.com 🙏 Your Nightly Prayer Lord, Thank You that even when I reach my limit, You never do. You see my overwhelm, my fatigue, and my unfinished work—and You cover it all with Your grace. Help me to trust that You are holding what I cannot carry and finishing what I cannot complete. As I rest tonight, remind me that Your hands never tire, and Your care never wavers. Let me release control, knowing that You are working all things together for my good. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🧘 Three Things to Meditate Upon When Strength Fails: Think of a time when you felt too weak to keep going but somehow made it through. Where do you now see God’s hand holding you steady? Trusting His Timing: What unfinished task, relationship, or dream are you trying to control? How might you hand it over to God tonight, trusting that His timing is perfect? Rest as Worship: How can resting in God’s presence—rather than striving in your own strength—become an act of faith and worship this week? 📣 Calls to Action 🌿 Before bed, write down one burden or unfinished task and pray Psalm 121:3 over it. Then rest knowing God is holding it—and you. 💬 Share this devotion with someone feeling overwhelmed or stretched thin. Thankful for Small Things | Your Nightly Prayer

In a world that celebrates big achievements, it’s easy to overlook the quiet, everyday moments that matter deeply to God. But as Britt Mooney reminds us in our evening prayer and devotional, small things matter. Jesus often pointed to the overlooked and the ordinary to reveal the extraordinary heart of God. A widow’s two small coins became an offering greater than gold. A young boy’s simple lunch fed thousands. And a shepherd boy with a slingshot became a king. Over and over, Scripture shows that God delights in taking what seems small and using it for His glory. The world measures value in size and visibility—but God measures by faithfulness. Each kind word, every act of service, every unseen prayer becomes a thread in the tapestry of eternity. Whether it’s the way we speak to our children, care for a neighbor, or pause to thank God for the smallest blessings, these moments reflect the kingdom of Heaven at work in us. Even the tiniest gestures—a smile, a prayer, a word of encouragement—carry eternal weight when done in love. The small things are not insignificant to God; they are sacred opportunities to display His heart. So tonight, take inventory of your “small things.” The ones you might dismiss or forget. They matter—to God, to others, and to eternity. Tonight’s Scripture: Luke 16:10 (NIV) “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” 🔗 Read more on BibleStudyTools.com 🙏 Your Nightly Prayer Heavenly Father, Thank You for reminding me that small things matter to You. Help me not to overlook the quiet moments or dismiss what seems insignificant. Teach me to be faithful with the little, trusting that You can multiply it into much. May every small act of love, kindness, or service I offer today be an offering of worship to You. Let my gratitude grow in the ordinary moments, knowing that nothing done for You is ever wasted. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🧘 Three Things to Meditate Upon Start Small, Think Eternal: What small thing has God entrusted to you today? A relationship, task, or opportunity? How can you steward it with eternal perspective? Reframing the Ordinary: What daily routines feel insignificant or frustrating? Ask God to show you how even these moments can reflect His grace. God’s Multiplication: Reflect on a time when God took something small in your life—a prayer, a conversation, an idea—and used it for something far greater than you imagined. 📣 Calls to Action 🌿 Pause tonight to thank God for three small blessings from your day. Speak them aloud in gratitude. 💬 Share this devotion with a friend who feels unseen or unimportant—remind them that God treasures their faithfulness in the little things. 📬 Sign up for Your Nightly Prayer to receive nightly encouragement and Scripture reflections delivered straight to your inbox.

A Prayer to Remember Life Is but a Breath | Your Daily Prayer

Life is fragile and fleeting—Scripture reminds us time and again that our days on earth are short, like a breath or a passing shadow. Yet, as our daily prayer and devotional remind us, in a world that measures meaning by years and accomplishments, we often forget just how temporary life really is. Lynette Kittle reflects on the sobering reality that every breath is a gift, urging us to live intentionally for eternity rather than the moment. When tragedy strikes or we’re reminded of death’s suddenness, it can shake our sense of security. But God never meant for these reminders to fill us with fear; instead, they call us back to perspective. James 4:14 tells us that our lives are “a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes,” not to diminish our worth but to reorient our focus toward what truly matters—living each day to glorify Him. Because of Christ, we do not have to fear death. Jesus tasted death for us (Hebrews 2:9) so that we can move from life to eternal life in His presence. Earth is not our permanent home. We are citizens of Heaven, created for something far greater than the temporary world we see. As believers, we can live with both urgency and peace—urgency to love, serve, and live for God today, and peace knowing our forever home is secure with Him. Let every breath be a reminder of His grace and an opportunity to glorify His name. Today's Bible Reading: "They are like a breath; their days are like a fleeting shadow." – Psalm 144:4 Key Takeaways Life is fleeting, but its brevity invites us to live with eternal purpose. God doesn’t want us to fear death—Christ has already conquered it. Our true home is in Heaven, where we will dwell with God forever. Each day is a sacred gift to glorify God and point others to His hope. Let’s Pray Together Dear Father, thank You for the sacred gift of life. Help me to remember how short and precious it is—not to fear its brevity but to live each day with eternity in mind. Thank You for the promise of eternal life through Jesus and for preparing a place for me in Your presence. May my life bring glory to You in every breath I take. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Can Poverty be a Blessing?

Can Poverty be a Blessing? A devotional on Luke 6–7 exploring poverty, generosity, and obedience through personal stories and biblical truth

A Prayer to Grow in Christ One Day at a Time | Your Daily Prayer

Spiritual growth isn’t a one-time event—it’s a daily process of surrender, humility, and learning to reflect Christ’s heart. 00:00 - 00:09 - Bible Memory Verse 00:10 - 04:03 - Devotional 04:04 - 06:00 - Your Nightly Prayer In our daily prayer and devotional, Vivian Bricker shares how her early enthusiasm for sharing Jesus was marked by zeal, but not always by gentleness or grace. Over time, through both failure and faith, she learned that true growth comes by walking with Christ day by day. Just as the Apostle Paul declared that “to live is Christ and to die is gain,” our lives find meaning only when centered on Him. To live is Christ means surrendering our will, allowing Him to shape our attitudes, actions, and relationships. And while the process of growth can be painful—marked by pruning, trials, and refining—it also deepens our roots in faith and equips us to help others. God uses every circumstance—our mistakes, disappointments, and struggles—to grow us into the likeness of His Son. Even when we can’t see the progress, He’s working beneath the surface, producing maturity and steadfastness. Spiritual growth doesn’t happen overnight, and it doesn’t come through striving. It comes through abiding—listening, learning, and depending on Christ moment by moment. As we do, we echo Paul’s words and find joy in knowing that our lives belong fully to Jesus. Today's Bible Reading: "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." – Philippians 1:21 Key Takeaways Spiritual growth takes time, humility, and daily dependence on Christ. Struggles and failures are opportunities for God to refine and strengthen us. “To live is Christ” means making Jesus the center and purpose of every day. True growth leads to deeper compassion and a greater heart for others. Let’s Pray Together Dear Jesus, I want to grow in You, even when growth feels slow or painful. Help me to be patient and faithful, learning to walk with You one day at a time. Teach me to echo Paul’s words—to live for You and bring glory to Your name. Strengthen my heart, renew my mind, and help me see every moment as a chance to grow closer to You. In Your name I pray, amen. Candace Cameron Bure Opens Up to John Crist About Blazing Her Own Career Path

Candace Cameron Bure opened up to John Crist about how she has been able to blaze her own career path. The actress, writer and podcast host mentioned that with her work, she is doing what she wants and saying what she wants. Watch the short but powerful clip to hear how Candace has been able to do this in an industry that typically puts up many barriers.

Conventional wisdom has been that you must do this or that or say this or that to succeed in Hollywood. Basically, if you want to be in the game, you have to play by the rules. To be honest, that is how it is in nearly every job and profession. We have always done things a certain way, so that is how you must do it, too.

Some people refuse to play by someone else’s rules. Simply because that’s the way we have always done things isn’t the greatest reason or argument for continuing to do things a particular way, especially if it’s not working. Candace is one of those people who has gone against the grain, choosing to do and say things in Hollywood that have gone against the norm.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Candace told John how she has been able to do this throughout her career. She says what she wants and puts out the movies and television shows she wants.

“I’ve always kind of been that way, and we’ve always,” she said. “I say ‘we.’ I’ve been with the same business partners for almost 30 years. I’m a loyalist at heart and love my team and my people. But we’ve just kind of forged a path when a lot of people were like, ‘Nope, you can’t do that. We can’t. You can’t.’ And we’ll say, ‘Well, we’ll find a way.’”

She added that her determination and perseverance have allowed her to “stay true to the things that I’ve wanted to and been willing to say no and find a different route to do it.”

Galatians 6:9 “Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up.”

Clarity for the Next Step | Your Nightly Prayer

When the night is dark and the way ahead feels uncertain, even a small light can make all the difference. In this powerful nightly prayer and devotional, Angie Grant reminds us that God’s Word is our guiding light—a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). Whether you're overwhelmed by decisions, weary from the day, or navigating a season of confusion, Scripture offers clarity, comfort, and direction. The Bible doesn't always reveal the whole roadmap, but it gives just enough light for the next step. Like a flashlight in the dark, it exposes what’s hidden, brings peace to our chaos, and leads us into truth. Let tonight’s video encourage you to pause, pray, and pick up the Word, trusting God to shine light exactly where you need it most. 📖 Today’s Bible Reading "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." — Psalm 119:105 (NIV) 🔗 Read more on BibleStudyTools.com 🙏 Your Nightly Prayer Lord, Thank You that Your Word shines brightly even when my circumstances feel dim. When confusion clouds my heart, remind me to turn first to You for clarity and peace. Illuminate my path and guide my next step according to Your truth. Let Your words shape my words, Your thoughts shape my thoughts, and Your will lead every decision I make. Keep me close to the light of Your Word so I never walk in darkness again. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🧘 Three Things to Meditate Upon Walking in the Light: Where am I trying to navigate life without the light of God’s Word? How to Practice Peace When Your Emotions Are Loud | Your Nightly Prayer

When we’re overwhelmed by emotions, it can feel like our hearts are shouting louder than truth. As our evening prayer and devotional remind us, fear, sadness, anxiety, or anger can rise up and drown out peace. But Philippians 4:7 reminds us that God offers a different kind of peace—one that surpasses understanding and quiets even the loudest feelings. As Amber Ginter shares, emotions themselves aren’t wrong. They are part of how God designed us. The problem comes when we either let them rule us or bury them so deeply that they begin to rule us from the inside. God’s invitation is not to suppress our emotions, but to bring them honestly before Him. When we do, He helps us process them with wisdom and grace. Whether you’re wrestling with anxiety, frustration, or sadness tonight, remember this: peace isn’t found in pretending you’re fine. It’s found in handing your raw, unfiltered emotions to the One who understands them perfectly. He can hold your heart steady when everything inside feels unsteady. His peace guards both heart and mind—two places that emotions often battle the hardest. So let your feelings come—but don’t face them alone. God is big enough to handle every emotion and gentle enough to walk with you through them. Tonight’s Scripture: Philippians 4:7 (NIV) “The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds.” 🙏 Your Nightly Prayer Dear Jesus, You see my heart tonight and know the emotions I struggle to carry. Sometimes my feelings feel too big, and I don’t know what to do with them. But You promise peace that surpasses understanding. Help me to come to You honestly—with joy, sorrow, fear, and anger—trusting that You can handle them all. Calm my mind, quiet my soul, and fill me with Your peace that guards my heart. Thank You for creating me to feel and for meeting me in the midst of it. In Your name I pray, Amen. 🧘 Three Things to Meditate Upon Feel to Heal: Instead of suppressing your emotions, invite God into them. Journal or pray through what you’re feeling and ask Him to help you process with peace. The Guard of Peace: Reflect on Philippians 4:7 and do a small word study on “guard.” What does it mean that God’s peace actively protects your heart and mind? The Voice of Grace: When emotions get loud, which voice are you listening to—fear, shame, or God’s truth? Practice identifying His calm, steady voice amid the noise. DMY Awake Rallies Prayer Request Standup

A Prayer to Rejoice and Be Glad on This Day | Your Daily Prayer

Fall leaves remind us how beauty and brevity often go hand in hand. Their brilliant colors take our breath away—yet they only last for a season. In today’s devotional from Whitney Hopler, we’re reminded that each day is like those leaves: beautiful, brief, and not to be missed. Psalm 118:24 calls us to rejoice in the day God has made. But so often, we let stress, distractions, and fear rob us of the present. Whether we’re weighed down by yesterday’s mistakes or anxious about tomorrow’s unknowns, God invites us to be fully here, today, with Him. Rejoicing doesn’t mean ignoring pain. It means anchoring ourselves in the unchanging truth that God is with us now. His presence is reason enough for joy—no matter what’s going on around us. From golden leaves to quiet moments, the fingerprints of His faithfulness are everywhere. Let today be sacred. Notice God’s goodness in the ordinary. Choose to rejoice—because this moment won’t come again. 📖 Today’s Scripture Reading: “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24 (ESV) 🔗 Explore this verse on BibleStudyTools.com 🙏 Let’s Pray Together Dear God, Thank You for this day. Forgive me for rushing past Your blessings or letting stress cloud my joy. Open my eyes to Your presence in the present. Help me rejoice—not because life is perfect—but because You are good and near. Let me live today fully, intentionally, and gratefully. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🍂 Key Devotional Takeaways: Each day is a gift—notice it, celebrate it, don’t waste it. Joy isn’t circumstantial. It flows from God’s presence, not perfect conditions. God made this day. That alone is reason to rejoice. Living in the moment brings spiritual clarity and emotional peace.

Lord, Teach Me To End Well | Your Nightly Prayer

Change is never easy—especially when it means letting go of a season we’ve loved or finding the courage to step into the unknown. But tonight’s devotional reminds us that “the end of a thing is better than its beginning” (Ecclesiastes 7:8). In God’s economy, endings are not failures—they’re invitations to something new. We may prefer predictability, comfort, and familiarity. But God's Spirit is always calling us forward—to growth, transformation, and deeper trust. When we cling too tightly to what was, we risk missing what God is doing now. As you reflect tonight, ask yourself: What season might be coming to a close in my life? Whether it’s a role, a ministry, or a mindset, you can release it with gratitude, knowing the God of yesterday is also the God of tomorrow. 📖 Tonight’s Scripture: “Better is the end of a thing than its beginning.” – Ecclesiastes 7:8 (ESV) 🔗 Read more on BibleStudyTools.com Nightly Prayer Almighty God, You are the Lord of every season, and Your wisdom governs all beginnings and endings. Help me release what needs to end so I can embrace what You are doing next. Give me courage to step forward in faith when I’m tempted to cling to comfort. Teach me to end well—with gratitude, humility, and trust in Your perfect timing. In Jesus’ name, Amen. ✨ Key Takeaways: Change is part of God’s plan—He never calls us to remain stuck in old seasons. Gratitude closes the door well, allowing us to enter the next chapter with peace. Endings invite growth. God is always moving forward—are we willing to follow? God's timing is perfect, and His character is unchanging through life’s transitions.

Hope for the One Who’s Drained | Your Nightly Prayer

Just like a vase of flowers that drinks up all its water, our hearts can run dry when we've been pouring into everyone else—neglecting the space to rest and be refilled. In today’s Your Nightly Prayer devotional, we’re reminded through Isaiah 40:29 that God gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Exhaustion—whether emotional, spiritual, or physical—is not something God shames. Instead, He welcomes us into His presence to be renewed. When you stop striving and start abiding, His grace quietly fills what has been emptied. Let this be your invitation to pause, exhale, and let God restore your soul. 📖 Tonight’s Scripture: “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” – Isaiah 40:29 (NIV) 🔗 Read more on BibleStudyTools.com Nightly Prayer: Giver of Living Water, You see how empty I feel—how life has drained me of energy, hope, and joy. Please fill me again with Your strength. When I feel like I can’t take another step, remind me that You carry me. Help me rest in Your presence and trust that You are renewing me from the inside out. Thank You for Your endless patience and tender care. I choose to rest in You tonight, believing You will restore what’s been depleted. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Key Takeaways: Rest isn’t laziness—it’s worship. Isaiah 40:29 is a powerful promise for those running on empty. Like wilted flowers need water, our hearts need God’s presence. Renewal comes not from effort, but from stillness. God's strength is made perfect in our weakness.

4-Year-Old's Sweet Gesture Is Beautiful Example of Obedience to God

This 4-year-old's sweet gesture is a beautiful example of obedience to God. The youngster wanted to do something very unexpected for one particular reason. Watch the short but moving clip to hear about the young man's heartwarming move and why he wanted to do it.

Throughout the Bible, God talks to many people, often giving them specific instructions and commands. In the case of Moses, He gave him a list of 10 very specific directives atop Mount Sinai, which you and I know as the 10 Commandments. In the Garden of Eden, He also told Adam and Eve to avoid eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Of course, we all know how that turned out for them, and since we're still dealing with the repercussions of their disobedience, us.

However, if asked, most people would likely say that God doesn't talk directly to people anymore, at least not like He did to Noah, Moses and Adam and Eve. But one young mother's beautiful and heartwarming situation involving her young son will likely change your opinion.

In the video posted on YouTube, the woman recalls her 4-year-old unexpectedly stating that he wanted to gather up some of his favorite toys and give them to one of his classmates. This caught her by surprise, but she went along with her son's desire, making arrangements to hand off the toys to the classmate's mother. That's when the woman learned how God works, answered prayer and showed her how her son obeyed God.

"I asked my son this morning, I said, 'What made you want to give all those toys to Johnna?' Like, it's pretty generous. It's like a lot of the predators of the animal kingdom toys that he has. And he said, 'God.'"

Later in the clip, the 4-year-old's mother learned while talking with the other boy's mother that she had recently prayed for and asked the Lord for toys for her children.

God hears and answers prayer, but it's up to us to listen and be obedient.

Jeremiah 7:23 "But this was the order I gave them, saying, 'Give ear to my voice, and I will be your God, and you will be my people: go in all the way ordered by me, so that all may be well for you.'"

Walmart Turns into a Dance Party Thanks to This Man’s Moves

Walmart turned into a dance party thanks to this man's moves. He used his fancy footwork and a classic song to spread happiness and joy. Watch the short but delightful clip to see how one man's good time quickly spread to everyone else in the vicinity.

Our moods and how we act are infectious. If we're upset or angry and then stomp around as we stew, odds are that those around us won't be in the best of moods either. Those individuals will be walking around on pins and needles, hoping they don't say or do something that sets that person off. It just makes for an unpleasant experience for everyone involved.

However, if we are in a good mood and act halfway decent to people, not as an overgrown baby who lost their pacifier, they will react accordingly. Those around us will be in a better mood, making the day better for everyone. You know this to be true because we have all experienced similar situations many times before.

A clip posted on YouTube showed just how easily happiness and joy can spread to others. While dancing through a Walmart, the man in the video shows off his best moves as he approaches others. Everyone he comes up to immediately starts dancing, and you'll also notice they do so with a big smile on their faces. Even those who chose not to dance but just take in the joyous and somewhat strange sight of someone dancing in a Walmart are having a good time.

It also doesn't hurt that he's dancing about that particular Walmart location to Kool & The Gang's "Get Down on It." It's nearly physically impossible to be in a bad mood whenever that song
plays.

So, yes, our moods and actions impact those around us, and this short clip is a perfect example of that.

Psalm 149:3 "Let them give praise to his name in the dance: let them make melody to him with instruments of brass and corded instruments of music."
