Their mother, Amy Haddox, remembered that the placed was very busy since it was a Saturday and a holiday weekend. So, when they told the server that they were dining for a birthday, they didn’t expect anything out of the ordinary. Little did they know that Alphonso “Alphy” Nichols was working as a waiter that night. Alphy is known around town for his incredible voice. In fact, he was even signed to a local record label in 2017. With a voice like that, I truly hope we hear more from this young man in the future!

Acoustic Rendition Of 'Mary Did You Know' From The Voice Alum Hannah Ellis

Hannah Ellis, a former contestant on The Voice performs a stunning acoustic rendition of ‘Mary Did You Know.’ This classic Christmas song is a favorite by many for it’s powerful lyrics and imagery. The words remind us all of the impact of the birth of our Savior. ‘Mary did you know that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man? Mary did you know that your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand? Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod? When you kiss your little baby, you kiss the face of God’ While many of us know and love these words, it took songwriter Mark Lowry over 7 years for Mark Lowry to perfect the song. The idea came to Mark while he was writing a Christmas program for Jerry Falwell. He started to think about what he would ask Mary if she was sitting right in front of him. He wondered how she must have felt when the angel told her she would birth a child of God. That’s when he put together the questions that eventually became the lyrics to ‘Mary Did You Know.’ Today, we’re in a for an incredible treat as Hannah Ellis belts out these iconic words. ‘Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation? Mary did you know that your baby boy would one day rule the nations? Did you know that your baby boy is heaven's perfect lamb? That sleeping child you're holding is the great I am’ John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Insecure Teen Finds Confidence With Moving Australia's Got Talent Audition

In this moving audition on Australia’s Got Talent, an insecure teen finds his confidence after performing in front of the supportive audience and judges. Jayden Appleby is a 17-year-old from Hobart, Tasmania. Before his audition starts, one of the judges asks if he has performed before. “This is actually my first time even singing into a mic, really,” he responds. The audience and judges are shocked after he says this but are excited to hear him perform. He says that he will be singing ‘All I Want’ by Kodaline. “When you said your last goodbye I died a little bit inside I lay in tears in bed all night Alone without you by my side But If you loved me Why did you leave me Take my body, take my body All I want is, and all I need is To find somebody, I'll find somebody like you” One of the judges asks Jayden why he chose that song to audition with. “I just feel that some of the lyrics really hit home,” he shares. “I can relate to them a lot in what’s happened in my life.” He then goes on to explain some of the challenges that he has faced growing up. “Singing for me really was an escape,” Jayden says. “Growing up, I sort of had it a bit rough, here and there, with my mom and dad in and out, and myself, in and out of home… I don’t really have my mom around as much as I’d like, or the relationship that I’d like to have… I feel like I’ve sort of been battling things by myself, and when I sing, I’m trying to stop feeling alone. It’s like the endorphins releasing, the anger and the sadness can just be let out.” His aunt was able to be there for him as support during his Australian’s Got Talent audition. “He’s so talented,” she explains. “He just needs to believe in himself. And this is a great opportunity for him to actually put his heart and soul into something.” During his powerful and emotional performance, the judges on the show were tearing up while listening to his beautiful and unique voice. After he finished singing, Jayden received a standing ovation from the crowd! “Jayden, some people sing songs at people, and some people, like you, make people feel songs,” explains one judge after Jayden’s audition. “You know there’s a huge difference, don’t you?” “Yeah, and that’s what music has been for me, and why I love it,” shares Jayden. “Because it’s brought me out of those dark places. And look where I am now!” May Jayden’s musical talents continue to bring joy to himself as well as others!

'Heaven Sent' Nurse Takes In Homeless Man So He Can Receive A Heart

Because of the boundless compassion from a ‘heaven sent’ nurse, a homeless man is taken in so he can receive a heart transplant in order for him to live. Jonathan Pinkard is an autistic man who was raised by his grandmother. But when she died a few years ago, there was no one else in his life that he could go to live with. “If I wasn’t staying at the shelter, I was staying in my car. I had nowhere to go,” says Jonathan. At 26 years of age, Jonathan was diagnosed with heart failure by the doctors at Piedmont hospital in Georgia. They said that he needed a heart transplant or else he was only going to be able to live for 6 more months, at most. The problem was that you can’t get a new heart or even get on the transplant list if you don’t have a home or some kind of support system to help you post surgery. And given Jonathan’s situation, there was no hope for him to get a new heart. That was until Lori Wood stepped in. Although there was nothing that Lori could do for Jonathan as his nurse, she decided that there was one thing that she could do as a mom. “It was just in my heart that there was no other choice, other than to bring him home,” Lori shares. She only knew Jonathan for 3 days, but that didn’t stop Lori from inviting him into her home and becoming his legal guardian. He started living with her and her son, Austin, and because of this new situation, Jonathan was able to get on the transplant list. And just a few months ago, he was able to get a new heart. But Lori says that even when Jonathan heals from the surgery, she will still be there to take care of him. “He’s a part of the family,” Lori explains. “I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for her,” says Jonathan. “I just call her Momma now. She’s like a second momma to me. Heaven sent.”

Caring Judge Helps Calm A Fussy Baby

In this video, a caring judge helps calm a fussy baby while his mother was given the oath of admission in a Tennessee court room. 1-year-old Beckham Lamar was able to see his mother, Juliana, take her very last step before becoming a lawyer. “To have my son right there witnessing his mom take the oath with him standing right there helping swearing me in, it was amazing,” Juliana says. “It’s probably a moment I will never forget.” While Beckham was starting to get a little fussy during the procedure, like babies can do, the judge stepped in to help alleviate the situation. “He went and grabbed Beckham and said ‘Ok, I want you to help me with this,’” Juliana explained. The tender moment was captured by one of Juliana’s law school friends, and she shared it to social media. The video shows the end result of many days and nights of hard work and determination. “It was amazing. This was a moment I’ve dreamed of for a very long time,” shares Juliana. “During my pregnancy, I didn’t know how I was going to get to this end goal. I didn’t know the path way, I didn’t know how I was going to do it. But that moment was everything coming together.” Juliana Lamar is now working as a law clerk and hopes to one day become a sports and entertainment or corporate lawyer. She encourages everyone to stick with their dreams, even when the road becomes difficult. “God placed you in that position for a reason,” she shares. “Don’t give up on yourself. There will definitely be nights that you’re crying, that you’re questioning yourself, you don’t know if you can do it, you feel guilty, you’re wondering if you’re making too many sacrifices. You’re going to have a moment just like I had, swearing in, when you just know that it was all worth it.”

Airline Choir Surprises Passengers With Christmas Song On Arrival

Passengers arriving to London Heathrow airport when in for a Christmas surprise when this airline choir burst into song. Christmas time is all about spending time with our loved ones to celebrate the birth of our Savior. But for many of us, in order to see our family and friends, we must travel. This means that the holiday season can be a very busy time for transportation hubs such as airports. To help alleviate some of the stress, one airline described to give their passengers a well-deserved Christmas treat. British Airways is known for their viral videos such as a flash mob on a plane and impromptu ballet performance. Today, the airline has gathered some of their most talented crew members to surprise guests. As they departed from the plane and went to gather their belongings at baggage claim, one flight attendant started to sing ‘Deck The Halls.’ Then, one by one, more and more airline employees gathered in on the special serenade. But wait, this was not just any ordinary rendition of ‘Deck The Halls.’ This was an original version with lyrics created just for these unsuspecting travelers. From warm holiday wishes to safe travels, the lyrics are custom to the grateful audience. As the choir belts out the words, you can see smiles spread across everyone’s face. Phones are out to record the memories and the crowd even erupts into cheers at the end. This was such a perfect way to spread some Christmas cheer as people travel for the holidays. Who else was grinning along with this incredible choir?

'The Christmas Song' David Archuleta

Talented vocalist David Archuleta helps usher in the Christmas season with a stunning rendition of ‘The Christmas Song.’ We first met David Archuleta when he rose to fame as a contestant on the seventh season of American Idol. David was just 16 years old when he placed second in the competition. Since that time, he’s continued to entertain with popular songs such as ‘Crush’ and covers of ‘The Prayer’ and ‘Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.’ Today, he’s lending his voice to one of the most popular holiday songs of all time. “Chestnuts roasting on an open fire Jack Frost nipping at your nose Yule-tide carols being sung by a choir And folks dressed up like Eskimos” ‘The Christmas Song’ written in 1945 by Bob Wells and Mel Tormé. The story is actually quite interesting. The two musicians were hanging out on a very hot day. As a way to stay cool, Bob started writing down things that made him think of wintertime. He so hot that he believed if he wrote down chilly thoughts, he could become more comfortable. When Mel saw the list, he mistakenly thought that Bob had started writing a song. That’s when Mel added to it and completed it. “And so I'm offering this simple phrase To kids from one to ninety-two Although it's been said many times, many ways Merry Christmas to you” Over the years, so many famous voices have covered this tune and they each add their own unique performance. But no matter the artist, these words still ring true for the whole world. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
